Taking you back way back, back into time! being born in 1971 my memories started maybe around 1975 1976 . I gotta say what a time to be alive the simpler times, the easy times no internet no cell phones. We were in awe of Sky Lab and the future talk of the Space Shuttle.

Everything was basic and pure, sure there were some hard times the 70s and 80s had more than their share. But I dunno it just seemed at lot better when we had less. Maybe its just me.

Reflecting on my childhood in 1976 in Maplewood NJ..

From those huge and heavy TV Sets to the awesome 1976 Bicentennial Fourth of July celebration. To the awesome shows like The Bionic Woman and Happy Days. come to think of it I was a happy 4/5 year old in the late 70s

In the ’70s and ’80s till close my Uncle worked at the GM Plant in Linden, many times when I was very young my mom would take me to go see my uncle at lunchtime. When I saw this sigh I knew I was almost there. If you are from Linden or Roselle show them where you are from Let them Know!

Teaneck NJ I have many friends from there, we used to meet up at Rutts Hutt to have a few Rippers then head up Route 17 and hit the exit. Back in the day not much traffic we are talking about the early 90s here when everything was still relaxed. So if you are from Teaneck or live there now show them where you are from.

I have a soft spot for Asbury Park I mean I have been to Neptune as well but let’s face it when it’s 1987 and it’s the summer before your Junior Year of High School where are you going to have more fun at? Depending on the time of the year these commercials aired I was either 14 or 15 years old. I can remember seeing a lot of these on my T.V. in my bedroom. Well, when I wasn’t playing with my Intellivision. At 51 years old today I cannot even fathom how advanced we are today with technology.

When these commercials aired there was no internet, cell phones, and the beeper was in its early stages, it was just a simpler time. We didn’t need things yesterday, we didn’t need Peppermint coffee creamer just regular milk was fine.

Ahhh don’t mind me I’m just thinking out loud.

One of my Uncles most favorite sayings, and he always said it to me whenever I was about to talk back lol

As a Jersey guy I love my Jersey girls, forget about the Bruce Springsteen song for a bit. I am a product of the 70s 80s and early 90s. I can remember my mom and aunt like many mothers holding down a job coming home to cook and clean making sure our homework was done and some mothers even when out to do a second shift afterwards because it needed to be done in order to pay the bills.

Jersey Girls have a confidence like no others not to mention have the biggest hearts and well, not to mention if you get into an argument anywhere they have your back even when you are wrong they got you.

Welcome to Jersey because no real Jerseayean actually says New Jersey but that is another post for another time. But sure come to Jersey and buy our Tomatoes and our amazing Pizza hell even stop by one of our amazing attractions like the Twin Lights Lighthouses.

But sadly if you can’t navigate one of our many jughandles or just simply go when the light turns green then you need to make your trip a short one.
